How was your weekend, friends? Good?
Ours here at Humbug Hall was a busy one! Daughter Katie (Humbug's most
favourite person in the world) was home for the weekend, so I shamelessly took
advantage of her visit to set her to work rearranging the fence around the pony
paddock. After some discussion, we then took the radical (and possibly unwise)
decision to remove the paddock completely, in the hope that the ponies will
keep themselves busy hiking up and down the hill and be too occupied to
escape... Let's see how that goes!
The farrier made his regular visit and for once Humbug actually behaved! There
was no rearing or punching, no stamping on fingers or the farrier's tools, so
everyone escaped injury free!
Katie went off for a hack on Taz, and took some lovely photos of our amazing
countryside. We're so lucky to live where we do! The last time she rode, Taz
blotted his usually unblemished copybook somewhat, by being very strong, very
stressed and altogether a pain in the backside; thankfully he's back to his usual
angelic self and they arrived back and hour and a half later with smiles on
both of their faces! The only thing missing was the sunshine... It's June,
right? Hard to believe, some days!
Until next time...
